I have an old 845GVSR chip set desktop with a CRT Monitor about to die.
Another acer 2424 laptop with dead motherboard...
can i use LCD of lappy for my desktop as a new monitor?
I Know the pin configuration is different...
Any hardware for interface?

Given that the illumination for the screen involves quite high voltages and you are very unlikely to find a pinout diagram, etc, etc. I think you would be best not trying this.

By way of illustration I have disassembled several broken desktop type flatscreens in the hope of making one that works and discovered the diversity of different types of subsystems used makes this impossible without specialist knowledge.

I particularly like the wiring shot in the third link -- do you really want to get into something like that, isn't life complicated enough already ?

Note too that after all that effort the screens are rather small compared to a new monitor you just go to the shop and buy !!

Anyway have fun, but be careful with the screen illumination components' voltages.
