Exchanging cases, keeping HD: Is XP going to allow this?

As some of you might remember, my case came with heavy scratches on it and I
am calling Dell to get a new case swapped out for this one (if it isn't too
late; it's still within the 30 days from invoice date).

If they ship me out a new Dim8300, and I swap out the new HD with the one
I'm using on my currently scratched 8300, will the BIOS locked serial
numbers cause me any headaches with XP?

1. That is, can I use an XP operating system from one 8300 and then
transplant it into another case and not have XP complan? I've read that XP
uses node locking or similar to some degree.

2. Are there likely going to be subtle changes in the hardware from one
(identically configured) 8300 to another that would require a reload of
drivers?

Or should I just bite the bullet and reconfigure my new 8300 from scratch?

Thomas,

If it's mine, I'm going for the entire tower replacement configured
identically. Then I'd just move over the hard disk. I don't believe there
will be any differences, but if there are, I'm betting so subtle as to not
be noticed by XP, or that XP will handle them easily.

No worries. Post back and good luck.
