Add?Change drive

I want to change the drive on a 700X by adding another drive and
transferring the data files etc. to the new drive. If I recall, when you
remove the old drive you can't boot to the new drive because it does not
have the boot sector on it, right? If so, how do you get the pc to boot to
the new drive?

Use a drive cloning utility to copy the entire contents of the drive and to make
the replacement drive bootable. Norton Ghost is one possibility, albeit at a
cost. Seagate's SEATOOLS is a no-cost download which has done a decent job for

i have no tolerance for fools like you and the original poster that waste
peoples' time. he didn't even read the gd instructions that came with the
drive. now go stick your head where it belongs, back up your ass. and
what's 81mm? the diameter of your brain?
