Probably Quake III is the most popular, although it's old.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

Yep. It is popular and so is the one I am hooked on UT.

You could say Halflife and all of it's spinoffs as well.

Blah, Blah Blahh, Blahh, blahh blah blahh, blah blah.

I personaly like UT for gaming bucause I play Capture the flag the most but I play Quake 3 sometimes because I think Quake 3's deathmatch is better the UT's Deathmatch.

UT definitely. Q3 got boring after a week and the graphics aren't that great.

My problem is that Godlike is too easy so I hope they make more difficulty levels in UT2.

Halflife by far, but it's the mods that make the game (tfc/cs/dod/flf, etc), you have to try many out to see what ya like.

Quake3 is descent, lots of nice eyecandy, its best feature is q3f.

UT, i loved at first, it has some real fun teamplay modes, but the more i play it, the more i dislike its cheap engine.

Haha, someone always says that and everytime it is obvious they are lieing like a mofo. Good laugh though.

Oh, and to answer the question of the most popular FPS in the US (I'm assuming you mean online), Counter-Strike is by far the most popular. Check out these sites that track online play: http://www.theclq.com/games.asp, http://www.gamespy.com/

I didn't mean it to be arrogant, but I was serious. I played some CTF today and had no problem scoring all the flags and getting over 100 frags with 16 bots. I found some new boards though and they were more fun, but I'm really looking forward to UT2 for something new and harder. Another Bonus Pack would be nice in the meantime.

It's a lot more fun at LAN parties when you're playing against people, but there are always bots and there needs to be something harder. If you jump enough even their perfect aim isn't perfect anymore. For CTF I set them all to defend since they just get in my way otherwise. Sometimes I'll let set one to go with me, leave friendly fire on 100% and just frag my bot when I'm out of ammo. Friendly fire at 100% makes the game a lot more fun. Deathmatch got old a long time ago.

My other problem is I'm on dialup so I don't go online to play.

Yeah, I pretty much mastered the godlike deathmatch in UT in no time...

Here's my opinion:

Quake 3 - sucks ass. Stupid guns, crappy graphis, horrible gameplay.

Unreal Tournament - Rocks, but showing it's age. Still the best AI I've played against.

Tribes 2 - My current favorite game, AI is a close second to UT, thanks to pure skill at hardest level, and the fact that they respond to what you say. In terms of intelligence, there's a fair amount to b desired.

No One Lives Forever - Just got into this, good game so far. Pretty decent graphics, great plot, fair gameplay.

I'm leaving several out, let me know what I've forgotten.
