The retail HSF is OK as long as you don't overclock, so I recommend you but a better HSF before you do any overclocking. What is your CPU temperature? I have an Alpha PAL 8045 and an XP2100, and my CPU temp is in the low 40's C at idle and in the high 40's C under load. Room temperature varies from 20 - 30 C.

I think with the Tbred B XP2100, he can easily have temps of 35ºC on load. With a Volcano 7+, he can overclock it very far, to 2.3GHZ quite easily, and still have low temps of mid 40s under load.

A bit quieter... but still damn loud.

IMHO the volcano7+ isnt great on high... better options available.

Yes, I have a Palomino, which runs hotter than the TBred.

If you are getting a good HSF, get a Swiftech model 462 or a Thermalright SLK800A(U if your mobo will fit it.)

eBay, kick ass!
