Okay so.. mother and law gets a laptop... old but run.. I put xp on it.. but we have problems.. I have to get into the bios to fix a few misc things but problem.. theres a password.. I need to know if there are any confirmed cases of taking one of these things apart to remove a cmos battery before i start hackin away at it.. or if theres a bios master password that i can use.. ive heard phoenix and PHOENIX and CMOS and BIOS but none of those have worked as well as leaving it blank and admin etc etc.. so is there really a master password? All im askin is for anyone who has used a hp like this one with knowledge of if its possible thanks alot.. sorry for the uhmm bad typing.. in a hurry
Okay well.. I may have a way to get around not being able to access the bios.. All that I really need is windows xp to run smoothly.. Right now it wont because its missing some vital drivers.. However I cannot access the BIOS to let me change the boot order whatsoever.. So anyone and everyone probably knows the window where when you shut off your computer abruptly sometimes it will come up when you start up that will say to launch start up repair.. well I want that window and from there I can reinstall windows.. BUT I cant get the effing window to pop Up!! how??
