A64 beat out by 1200MHz Tbird

Obviously this PC was not configured to run the A64 at it's full potential, but this is the second benchmark I have seen posted that shows really bad performance. My question is why is AMD setting themselves up in this way. Why are they demonstrating CPU's of such low performance that obviously should not be seen by the public. And to have a known benchmark installed on the system they are displaying; very disappointing.

There a AGP implentation issue on A64 nothing to do with the CPu itself but what we can conclude is is AMD MCH HT and chipset is no better that was AMD 760 in is time or MPX vs Intel Xeon chipset.They run on a very small almost no validation team also very tight budget.

Even hammer run on a low budget they are lucky that dick meyer is there that a have """transfert""""" EV7 tech on K7.

I would rather they wait until it has been validated before putting it on display. When things like this get leaked out, it really hurts their image.

benchmark that are more that 3 month old of leak A64 show that it also have AGP implemattion issue so it getting long to AMD to solve this also.In the finicial record in write a transfert of 50 million to IBM for help debugg there SOI process does AMD have lie about their real reason for the last delay or they just can mak thing work well.A bit like early itanium 1 was having bios issue maybe due to lack of experience with built in information (firmware)

I hope u guys dont forget the summer of 1999 Athlon early review from the FIRING SQUAD... it looked awful....3 months later... it was smacking up the Katmai P3's like a redhead step child..

its way to early to make ANY KIND of prediction on the FINAL RELEASE.

dont get burned like alot of people who called the ATHLON TRASH after that FS review.
