I have a Palm V. I have two office desktop computers and a laptop at
home. I want to use one of the office desktop computers as a central
'server' where I connect my cradle and store my master contacts and
calendar information and install Palm desktop on the other computer
and laptop and point them to my user profile on the master computer
(locally over the network on the 2nd desktop and remotely from the
laptop) so that my calendar and contacts, etc. are consistent from all
three machines and on my Palm when I HotSync. I thought that this
would be simple but when I installed Palm desktop on the 2nd desktop
computer and mapped it to the Palm folder on the Master desktop I got
the error "'E' cannot be used to store your data because it is being
used by another user". I named the profiles identically on each
computer but get the same error. How do I get multiple computers to
sync with the same Palm Desktop user database? Why can't I just point
the Palm Desktop software to the remote folder? The 'techs' at PalmOne
in India are only able to regurgitate info from the user manual, which
has not helped.
Any advice or referral would be appreciated.
