Way back about 5 plus years ago. Their Alpha Chip was running on 64 Bit. So they beat the pants off Intel and AMD. Being first out the gate with 64 bit Chip. So!!!! 64 Bit is not new Tech but old.

new on the desktop, it is...
but not for the better part of a year at least...
AMD is waaaay too slow...

AMD is to slow bring out their new chips on time. Didn't Intel have this problem a while ago. When AMD was kicking their butt?

To bad Digital Equipment was way ahead of it's time with their 64 bit chip. BUT!!! Alta Vista was using it.

yes indeed, the 1.13Ghz P3 had some problems...

The picture has changed A LOT meanwhile, and apparently, AMD is now on the receiving end of that buttkicking you mentioned.
