When and why should i format the local disk

i wanted to copy the photoes to my computer from SD card of digital camera but my PC asked that my card is not formatted do i want to format it i cancelled it but it didn't opened the photo file of my memory card, what should i do now?

You could try retrieving the pictures by connecting the camera to the computer via a USB port if your camera recognizes the card. You could try the card in a different computer if you have one available.

I found this one as my SanDisk 32 GB SD card was stupidly formatted by me. It was impressive since it recovered all my photos back.
As I knew, your problem was not so difficult to resolve. You also need to run a recovery program and forma this drive after the recovery stuff.
