Medal of Honor Multiplayer direct connect

Hello,

I would love to play my brother in law online at medal of honor: allied assault one on one but every time I try to connect to his IP address it gives me a server time out. I heard that I need to open a "port". I have no experience in that though. Don't I need to configure my firewall somehow so it knows that his access is not a threat? Help please!!! I am kind of lost on this stuff. Thanks!

you can look for his server name on line, or you can type his ip address for the game in and then hit enter or join. HE is the one who needs to allow traffic through a port, not the client.

Check out this site http://portforward.com/cports.htm

Find your game in that port list then select your brand and model of router it will have step by step instructions for doing the forward for that router model and have all the ports you need to forward.

They also have a free downloadable tool that will test the forwarding and let you know if it's working or not (esp useful for UDP forwards as you do not get an acknowledge reply for a normal port check to work) alternatively you could check it via www.canyouseeme.org as long as the forwards are TCP and not UDP.
