Restore settings restores TOO much

I have 4 Microsoft MN-700 routers. I plan to set them up two per
floor on two floors. I put all the settings in, and then backed it up
so I could load them on the other two routers. One problem: When I
clicked "restore settings" it gives it the same router name, MAC
address, and even thinks it is the same serial number! (note: the 4th
router which I never did anything to has it's own unique MAC and
serial number) This is not good. I tried holding down the blue
button to reset it (which works for most everything) but it does not
reset the MAC or the serial number.

Help PLEASE.

Thanks.

Restore Settings does not have the ability to change the Serial Number or
LAN MAC.

If you have the MN-700 configured in DHCP mode and it has a cloned WAN MAC
address, that MAC address is stored in the settings file. If you Restore the
file on a different MN-700, the new MN-700 will report the same WAN MAC
address (listed as MAC address on the home page). However, a Restore to
factory defaults will return the MN-700 to its original MAC address (the one
printed on the label).

Please make sure that you are not looking at cached information in Internet
Explorer. That can make it look like multiple MN-700s have the exact same
settings.

I didn't think that the restore settings would change the MAC address
and serial number either, but it was done. Please try it yourself and
you will get the same result.

I'm 100% positive that the information is not cached in the browser (I
even connected to the router to a computer I've never used with it
before and it still displayed the same information).

I did try it. If you want to post or send your settings file to
hnbugs@microsoft.com, I will try it with your settings file. Also, what
version of firmware are you using?
