Okay, bump because I just came across this:
"Help! I don't have Java? What do I do? How do I get it?" - DSL Reports
<A HREF="http://www.dslreports.com/faq/xpinstall/all#4497" target="_new">http://www.dslreports.com/faq/xpinstall/all#4497</A>
If that page doesn't work, here's what it says:
<font color=green>Download Microsoft Java VM <A HREF="http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3-19990518/cabpool/MSJavx86_CD24D109B33421DB6728FBDC80C9F572EB7A3865.exe" target="_new">here</A>
We don't know how long that link will last on the Microsoft server, so if you suddenly get a 404 File Not Found error message, we did warn you.
You can also download Java directly from the makers of Java, Sun Microsystems.
Just click <A HREF="http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html" target="_new">here</A> to go to the Sun Java Download Page and click Yes at the ActiveX Security Prompt.</font color=green>
That file is still on the MS server, so that was definitely awesome. I have it saved on my computer, too. If it ever goes down, just let me know so I can upload it to my server. And, it actually installed!
Anyways, I'm stoked. So, I hope it helps you out as well.
Bryan
