Well, I have it <A HREF="http://members.rogers.com/amd_man/msjavx86.exe" target="_new">here</A>. Don't get the Sun one, it's very buggy. Get this! It's almost impossible to find nowadays. It took me a while to find it myself so I thought I'd do people a favour and make it available to otehrs.

Whoa, thanks man! You're awesome! I don't know if the various program errors I've been getting has to do with that, but who knows. I'm glad you got this, though. Do you mind if I upload it to my site as well? I wouldn't want you to get your bandwidth eaten up. I'll post the URL here when I get it to my site.

Thanks again, and it really is good to see ya!

Man, I couldn't figure out what directory to upload to my site with <A HREF="http://www.transloader.com" target="_new">Transloader</A>, so I'm just uploading it manually. My stinkin upload speed is only about 100kb, but it's okay. I'm just tryin' to help out with the bandwidth restriction he might have.

Here's my link to it from my site:
<A HREF="http://www.btvillarin.com/download/msjavx86.exe" target="_new">http://www.btvillarin.com/download/msjavx86.exe</A> (right-click, and choose "Save As")

Thanks again to AMD_Man!

No problem, I've been frustrated because some of my favourite games at javagameplay wouldn't run properly on my system. I searched for a while on google, until I finally found the file. I thought I'd let people access it too because it's very hard to find and not all the java apps out there work ok with the Sun version.

Yes, sun java wouldn't load my email account for the college i attend, finally now with MS java back it works fine. Very frustrating that suns didn't perform like MS'es.

Okay, bump because I just came across this:

"Help! I don't have Java? What do I do? How do I get it?" - DSL Reports
<A HREF="http://www.dslreports.com/faq/xpinstall/all#4497" target="_new">http://www.dslreports.com/faq/xpinstall/all#4497</A>

If that page doesn't work, here's what it says:

<font color=green>Download Microsoft Java VM <A HREF="http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3-19990518/cabpool/MSJavx86_CD24D109B33421DB6728FBDC80C9F572EB7A3865.exe" target="_new">here</A>

We don't know how long that link will last on the Microsoft server, so if you suddenly get a 404 File Not Found error message, we did warn you.

You can also download Java directly from the makers of Java, Sun Microsystems.

Just click <A HREF="http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html" target="_new">here</A> to go to the Sun Java Download Page and click Yes at the ActiveX Security Prompt.</font color=green>

That file is still on the MS server, so that was definitely awesome. I have it saved on my computer, too. If it ever goes down, just let me know so I can upload it to my server. And, it actually installed!

Anyways, I'm stoked. So, I hope it helps you out as well.

Hello there,

That file I specified is actually that same build. You can see for yourself by downloading it.

I got the virtual machine from windows update, and it works fine for me. I dunno if it's from Sun, but it's better than nothing.

My DVD reader is destroyed! I told you it wasn't an oven!

You got that recently or awhile back? Just awhile ago, Sun forced MS to pull it from their Windows Update website. That's why I'm mentioning it. If you got it from before, then it'll still work. It's when you need to do a clean install or something, where you had to get it from Sun. Not anymore...

Does WinXP service pack 1 includes MS VM? Do I have to install this if I do a clean install, then install service pack 1?

No, it shouldn't. If you do a clean install, install VM then SP1. So, you're right.
