Remove System Authentication password prompt

I have a dell inspiron 6000 and my friend set a system authentication password on it without my knowledge..i have the password he selected but dont know how to go about deleting that prompt when i turn on my laptop? thanks!

Does this authentication pop up when you turn the computer on? If so, I believe this is a BIOS password. To get rid of it, go into the BIOS and find the correct area to turn off authentication. I believe with Dell's you hit f2 when you first turn on the computer to enter the bios. If you know the password, it shouldn't be a problem to turn it off.
