My Target Pool is almost problem-free....EXCEPT...the bullseye targets that
score 50 points. When any of these are hit, the 50 point relay is triggered
and stays on...the score motor cycles continuously and the reset bank and
sequence bank reset continuously. I'm not sure how the game "counts to 50"
so I'm not sure what sequence of events to be looking for (but I know what
is happening now is not right :)
Thanks!

Correction...the 50 point relay is triggered but does not stay on.

Problem is probably in the score motor. if no schematic, look
for a switch that opens and closes 5 times thru one spin of
the score motor. Most likely this switch is either not making
contact or is stuck closed. these problem is easier to find
on bally and williams motors as there are more cogs on the
score motor, and you just look for the cog with lots of "teeth"
(causes a stack of switches to open/close 5 times in a revolution).
but you can find it pretty easily on gottlieb score motors too.

I'm pretty sure GTB of this era use 120 degree score motors, so one 50
point score would rotate the motor 120 degrees and pulse that contact 5
times

look for a cog with 15 teeth (360/120 = 3, 5 pulses x 3=15 teeth)

I'm not the wedgehead expert, but I once worked on a Playball that went
nuts when you scored a run. It turned out that one of the score unit
switches was working, but the duration it was in contact was too long,
and created a never ending loop of runs being scored. I corrected it by
moving the switches JUST A LITTLE further apart. I can tell you I tore
my hair out over that one. Well, some hair. I have to be careful there,
not much left.

There should be another switch on the 50 point relay used to hold it
energized until the score motor makes it's required rotation. Check
for a contact on the 50 point relay that's always closed.

To clarify that last post.....the switch you're looking for should only
be made when the relay is energized but may be out of adjustment so
that it's always made.

Yes that's what i meant by revolution. Gottlieb uses 3 revolutions
per 360 degrees, and williams and bally use 2 revolutions per
360 degrees. home to home is a revolution, 3 homes per 360 degrees.

Chris,
Do you have the Schematic?? If so, check all the contacts on the 50
point relay to make sure they are normally open or closed and only make
contact when they are suppose to. If one of them is set too close it
will make the score motor run constantly.
