Is it necessary to consider the IPS technology as a feature of tv?

My friend is going to purchase a new tv screen for his home in next month.
He ask me to suggest him the tv options but with IPS only.
So I am confused to know about it, that ips really need to be considering as an option too.
Guys need your views!

I also heard a lot about the IPS Panel and i think it's actually work.
So you can advise your friend to consider it as an option....
I would recommend to suggest your friend that he must go with ips panel.
ips panel is having lots of option like wide viewing angle, high brightness, fast response speed etc.

YES!
IPS should be considered definitely because IPS makes the TVs performance go better...
One should take care of it before buying a TV..

Well thanks for your support but i want to ask one more thing that i come to know that ips panel is only used by LG.
I think it's not true...but if someone knows then let me know please....
