XP STARTUP !!!!!

ok this sux...
when i try to install XP home edition on my laptop (dell inspiron 1100)
i boot frum the cd
then it says press any key to boot from disk(so i press a key)
then it says "Setup is inspecting your computers hardware configuration..."
then like 2 seconds after that the screen goes blank and it hangs there...
so can sum 1 hlp me???

You need to do hardware diagnosis on your machines.Check the RAM.
