Hello,
Hi, I have a Sony Cybershot w350...the 4GB Sony Memory Stick Pro duo works fine. I bought an 8GB
Sony Memory Stick Pro duo and when I put it in the camera the first time it came up as "format error". What do I do? I think I had the cameral off then turned it on. Is there a proper mode/sequence? Manual is void of any info on this. Thanks for any simple solutions.

Try here first: http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do...

Formats the memory card or the internal memory. When you use a memory card with this
camera for the first time, it is recommended to format the card using the camera for stable
performance of the memory card before shooting. Note that formatting permanently erases all
data on the memory card, and is unrecoverable. Save precious data on a computer, etc.

(Memory Card Tool)

[OK]
Circle (?) on the Control Button

Is it okay if you connect the camera card on PC with a card reader?

If it still gets the same error, you card might have been damaged.
