Hi,
I recently got a new PC at work. It's a Dell (not that it matters)
running XP Pro. I want to use an old Pavilion Multimedia keyboard I
have with this PC. I downloaded the different versions of the driver
like MMKbd_1020.exe and mmk_xp.exe. But I am having no luck
configuring the keyboard.

After downloading and running the executable i had a directory c:\hp.

Under there I had drivers\keyboard\install.bat

After running install.bat I rebooted. Now the volume control, play,
mute etc seem to work. How do I program the other buttons?

Thanks

Hi pakku... Well I wish you luck, as I never had a lot of luck
trying to get one multimedia keyboard to work on another computer.
As I think your BIOS has to be reprogrammed to accept it. Not
something that can be done cheaply.

Although this might work for some of the keys. It is a free program
called KeyTweak.

Cheers!

Darn! Thanks for the tip about KeyTweak. I am already using a couple
of freeware keyboard utilities.
WinKey(http://www.download.com/3000-2344-913626.html?tag=lst-0-1) lets
me map anything I could set up a shortcut for to a combination of the
Windows+any key.

And ShortKeysLite (http://www.shortkeys.com/lite.htm), which is not
really a keyboard utility, lets me map frequently typed in strings of
text to a shorter piece of text. A kind of record and playback as it
were.

Come to think of it, the volume and playback controls were the ones I
really wanted so that I if I am listening to music and someone walks
into my cube I can pause the music w/o fiddling around...
