Hi, i have a budget of £250 to upgrade my pc and was wondering on what to get. I need new motherboard, gfx, cpu and memory.

so far ive found

Asus m5a78l-m lx v2 mother board
gskills ripjaw 8gb (2x4) 10666 133mhz gddr3 ram
AMD phenom II x4 3.2
sapphire radeon hd 6750 2gb ddr3

my main issue is the gfx card should i get the 6750 or get the 7750 1gb with gddr5?

or pay more and get the 6870?

anything else you think i have made a mistake with?

I have a 650w psu so thats no issue and also i play mmo's mainly and want to play bf3 but not bothered about high or ultra settings just good fun and speed :)

opinion on cpu is also much welcomed

many thanks in advance

That would be a great addition will let you OC alot if you want. If you dont want to OC it still performs better and alot quieter than the stock one.

Could advise better if you priced each part. I just managed to do your build there on CCL computers using a Phenom II 965BE for £254.20.

If you could stretch your budget a little you could do alot better on the GPU.

This for example

atm mine is at £225 with the 6750... could you advise me on the ones i posted? i cant jusity 160 quid to the gf for one part lol

actually mine does include the 965 just double checked figures and noticed

tell the GF the GPU spend will help save baby seals.

For your budget I don't think you will find better but with GPU's you get what you pay and £160 now will outperform £80 and likely last you alot longer.

I'd take the 7750 over the 6750 it'll be faster and you don't need 2GB on a lower tier card using 1 monitor

2 years time = different circumstances so might be able to afford more then or cloud gaming might require me to not have a good setup :)  ill go ahead and start ordering then thanks mate for all the help :)

ive read aot of reviews saying the 550ti sucks and you may as well get the 560ti

i am no pc expert but do read what people write and from what i remeber they are pretty even either way between both nvidia and amd and as i have used a amd setup for 5 years with no issues but a blown pcu i will stick with them best i can :)
