How to repair a hdtv 1080i

Hello,
my name is bill and a friend of mine gave me this big tv hadtv 1080i it turns on but it has a color line on the bottom of the screen and sounds comes and goes. Can someone please enlighten me a little on what to do? my email is billhernand@yahoo.com.mx

I'd probably have a local shop take a look at it. Without knowing more, it's hard to troubleshoot.
