The FSB of a 2400+ is 133mhz right?

Would the best system memory be PC2100, which is 266mhz - so that the speeds would be synchronized in dual channel mode on an Asus A7N8X nForce 2 board? Or would asynchronized PC2700 or PC3200 actually run faster?

thanks, badassjedi

You can easily overclock the FSB to 166mHz (with a good mobo like an nForce2 board) which then allows you to run PC2700 RAM in synch mode. It's the best of both worlds.

"How is that a value?"
"Oh, it's a value for us, of course."

I have an MSI nforce2 board. My 2400xp is overclocked to 200fsb, which puts it in sync with my PC3200. Go to nforcershq.com and ask in the ASUS forum about the "wire trick". Its easy, and allows amazing overclocking abilities, which are not allowed with the board in its stock version. Then you can go for PC3200 memory and have it in sync
