sorry..this might sound dumb..but I don't get it..
what' the thermal resistance of a heatsink?
greater the number, better is? or less the number, better is?

I *believe* Thermal resistance should be as low as possible, eg. 0.17 is better than 0.18. But I'm not 100% sure.

Thermal Resistance is a measure of how well a heatsink can take heat away from a cooled object. It's measured in <b>Degrees per Watt</b> and the smaller the number the better...

For example:

With an input of 10 watts a cooler with a TR of 1 will allow the cooled object to rise 10c degrees in temperature.

With an input of 10 watts a cooler with a TR of .5 will allow the cooled object to rise only 5c degrees.
