Hi all, need help.

Test Report is showing "Switch 18 Right Outlane". What do I need to
check to fix this? I do not even know where switch 18 is located. Once
I figure out where it is located, I can at least check to see if there
is a broken wire. Beyond the switch itself, what else can it be?

Thanks.

Matt

I believe switch 18 is located in the right outlane. That would be the
outlane on the right.

Thanks for the sarcasm....I guess I was thinking it was the right loop,
I wasn't thinking outlane as in going down the right out shoot. Brain
fart happens

I will check it out.

Thanks.

Thanks for taking it in stride! :P

Do you have a manual, etc? Go into the test program of the system, and
test it out. It could be stuck, or broken. Also, If the switch
doesnt get used in so many games (90 I think) it throws an error, even
if the switch is good.

Your manual has a section in it listing the switches and a picture of where
they are all at by number.

Your manual can also help you go into diagnostics if you haven't figured it
out yet. Go into switch edge test and roll a ball over the switch ( #18
would be your drain lane on the right side ) and see what it's doing. It
will come up in error if it hasn't been triggered lately, doesn't always
mean something is wrong. Could be a simple adjustment to the wire switch arm
the ball rolls over, could be a broken wire. If the switch works and no
broken wire at that switch, then dig out your manual and study the switch
matrix. The switches are wired together in rows and columns. Find the row
and column #18 is on, then check the other switches on the same row and
column and see if you have a broken wire or poor connection at another
switch shutting down #18 or other switches. LTG :)

Trust me, it is getting used. I dump balls down the right outlane and
left outlane all the time. : ) Damn rubber bounces the ball down there
quite a bit!
So, I wonder why it is not registering if it knows it is getting a ball
dumped down there.

Guess I will add a couple of switches part # 5467-12693-19 to my next
parts order.

Thanks,

Mattax

1 - Does it register in the switch test?
2 - Have you physically examined the switch & wire? It might just be
stuck or bent.

Do the switch test (in the test mode), it should show up then. Broken
wires, bad switch, stuck switch, mis adjusted arm,. etc. Good Luck!

Thank you for all the replies!

Yeah I figured out the lamp and switch matrix diagram and the wire
color coding.

I will check it out this week and post back what I find.

So far, I have proved the switch does not work. Now just need to figure
out why. More later.
