Im looking to learn about the parts of a computer. For instance, what the specs of a motherboard mean, whats PC800 or something to that nature means on a CPU. Im not completely clueless, I have put together my own computer. But i just realized after trying to buy parts of the new computer im going to build, I dont know what to really look for in terms of the specs of certain product. If you are looking to help, you can give me LINKS to help me out, or BOOKS that I can read. Im also looking to subscribe to a COMPUTER-related magazine. I've seen a lot out there and I wanted to get some peoples opinions on PC magazines. Thx for your help ( if you decide to help :) )

by typing "computer basics" into google, i came up with this site http://www.l33tb0x.com/edu.html
if you have questions on top of that, just read the articles at this site (or any site such as www.anandtech.com, www.overclockers.com, www.extremetech.com...), and follow the forums for a few weeks. you'll pick up a lot of stuff just by reading. and if you're reading a thread and you don't understand what's being talked about, just interject a little "hey, i'm a newbie, can someone tell me what the (fill in the blank) is??"
as for PC magazines, i don't read em because they cost money, i don't get to choose what i read, and the internet is always more up to date anyway. can't help you there :-/
