still slower that AXP 2800+ T-bred in clock speed.SO the limit as been reach on K7.

If true we can extrapolate on K8 core.15% more clock speed 20% on massive stepping rework. So at a 2 Ghz release speed it allready have use more that 75% of is potential clock speed.

Wow 2.2 gig!!!!!. Lets see at the end of 2000 AMD had 1000 MGHZ CPU. Now they are going to release AXP 3200 at 2200 Mghz. Sometime this year. Or will it be 2004?

Bad assumption.

The fact that the 2800+ T-bred has higher MHz proves that the limit has not been reached. Plus, current .13u AthlonXPs apparently have very little problem overclocking beyond 2.5GHz. Clearly this bit of news proves nothing about MHz limits of either AthlonXP or Hammer.

Probably the only reason clock speeds are being held back is marketing. AMD wants to keep the K7 core from eating into its initial lower-speed Hammer range. It sucks, but I can understand why they're doing it.
