ok here are the options. I'm already pleased with what I have for cpu cooling a Volcano 7+ and 4 80mm Case fans. But as my quest for a better computer continues. A new choice has appeared!

A Vantec Nexus NXP101 Multifunction Panel + SLK800 + Vantec 80mm Tornado

Or

Thermaltake® SubZero4G

its a hard choice and was hoping for some feedback.

I know the SubZero is very new so that one caught my eye right away, but i'm unaware of any negative aspects to it.

Isnt the Subzero the peltier unit? Not woth it. Many better, safer more effective, cheaper plain aircoolers out there. Leave peltiers to water cooling units.

Finally managed to find a decent review of this product. Well its still somewhat limited but best review I could find.

Performance is good but i'm still undecided.

The SLK wins by 2-3 degrees. Which in my books it not alot, the Sub Zero wins in noise ratio!

Performance is good? I have had those temps beat on a Swiftech MXMC-370 (think thats the model name) with a 92mm low rpm fan. that setup was under $50. My water cooler, which was less than $80 all together, smacks it down completely, and is VERY quiet, and safer than a TEC solution.

Its just not worth it. It failed to beat a common cooler in that review, but he still said it was good, just because of noise. Want to improve on noise, get a zalman soution, or any number of less expensive (and flashy) heatsinks. And if you are overclocking, you can forget about this, as the extra temps would probably cause the tec to actually make the cpu hotter, and then subject your system to a bad symtom of heat, Death.

If you are not overclocking, and your system is stable.... then you dont need anything more than the stock amd sink, which with the included fan, is a good cooler and not too loud at the same time.

I do plan to overclock. PLan to run my XP2700 At 2.4Ghz!
With my setup right now it will do 40c idle and about 48c full load @ 1.8 Vcore so I want to get those temps lower.

Can do 2.33 Ghz at stock voltage with decent Temps.

Maybe I can help you make that decision...
Think about what would happen if the Peltier or it's controller were to fail...

Stay with the standard aircooling systems, you'll be a lot happier.
