Hi,

It's encrypted in the registry, not easily readable. Use one of these to
extract it:

This utility works for retail versions:
www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/ViewKeyXP.exe

or try this one which just gives you the key for any version:
www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml

Also, these system utilities will get it for you:

Everest Home Edition:
www.lavalys.com
Belarc Advisor:
www.belarc.com

Look at the computer. Manufacturers generally place the serial number
on the back or bottom of the case, although some place a label on the
side, as well.

thae computer's case, and probably has it's own serial number, no.
