Can't delete some files

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.general (More info?)

I've found what appear to be some incomplete files which I must have started
downloading ages ago but never finished. Now I can't open them, move them or
delete them!

I get no error message at all, just simply nothing happens when I try and
delete them.

Any ideas? Thanks

Try doing it in safe mode.

Thanks for that but this PC has never given me the option to start in safe
mode. Hitting F8 on start up doesn't work.
