Wrong volume inserted bug

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.general (More info?)

Hi there,

Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of this irritating bug in
Windows regarding the message box that repeatedly gets displayed, and
crashes the application it's referring to until you insert the last inserted
disk again. The message is something along the lines of...

"The wrong volume is in the drive bla bla bla"

I'm getting it too often now, it appears to happen when I open a file
open dialog that previously knew of the now missing disk even though it was
never actually opened within that application. This is very very
frustrating, especially if you have already put the disk away! Any ideas
would be most appreciated!
