Greetings, long time no post...

The Bumper Action auction in Melbourne got some exposure in the press
today. There is an online version of the article at
http://theage.com.au/articles/2005/06/26/1119724525737.html. The
prices may seem totally ridiculous at first, but remember they are
listed are in Australian dollars. Which makes them just slightly
ridiculous. (A$11,500 for a Simpsons????)

Unfortunately, the online pic doesn't expand any larger. It was a
great colour pic across 4 or 5 columns in the printed newspaper. The
closest 3 machines are Elvis, Sopranos and the Simpsons.

I am not going to make any coments regarding the auction itself as I
did not attend.

However the build up and way it was marketed predomiantly as an
investment opportnuity really annoyed me.

They claimed that 90's pins were becoming so collectable that they were
approaching the collectability of an original Warhol or Roy
Lichtenstein.

I have seen many a pin for sale in my brief collecting history however
I have only ever seen one Warhol for sale and it was for AUS$27,000
(which is roughly US$25,000).

Not much else to say
