15000+ points on a 1.8mhz machine a nice 1 up on the 7000+ from the previous 1.6mhz edition.

It looks like they worked out the AGP/Hypertransport problems.

Now we have some competition. Ding Ding Ding.

Dichromatic for your viewing plesure...

Looks very promising. They failed to mention if that was a 9700 or a 9700 PRO. If the former, then my god this machine could kill. If the latter, it's still impressive nonetheless, more than I expected out of the new IPC. Hopefully this improvement is standard on the rest of the benchmarks. It is expected that Athlon 64 debuts at 2GHZ, this should be interesting. Hopefully it can compete Prescott.

F*** Me Dead. It was a 9700 NON-PRO. I say again NON-PRO. Things are looking up for AMD.

EDIT:
I emailed the auther of the article. I was incorrect it was done with 9700 PRO. Still impressive though.

From the article text, it looks a NON-PRO. But sometimes people call R9700 Pro only 9700, without adding pro

The possible Athlon 64 launch month (if they don't delay again) is the lucky month for AMD. September 1999, the month of Athlon (classic). Will it happen again after 4 years, for Athlon 64? Time will tell

Someday Microsoft will use safedisc copy protection on Windows, and we have to insert the Windows CD evertime we boot pc.

Ok I will send an email to the auther and ask just to make sure. I myself dont believe that a site like that would leave out the Pro in 9700Pro. But I will check.

Well if it's the 9700 Pro, the Athlon64 has around 20-25% more IPC than a Barton in 3DMark 2001SE. Not too shabby. I highly doubt that the video card was the plain 9700.

I just got a reply from the person that wrote the article. It was ATI Radeon 9700 PRO. Ahh well. It is still a very nice score.

I'm starting to think those who mention Radeon 9700 in their ARTICLES and were meaning 9700 PRO, are incompetent.
