USB Optical Wheel Mouse Problems in Games

Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and knew
of a way to fix it. I am running WinXP with a Microsoft
Optical Wheel Mouse which works just fine in Windows, but
whenever I play games for very long, it makes that
disconnecting USB sound, and then reconnects over and
over again. Then, eventually the light in the mouse
turns off completely and requires an unplug/replug in the
USB slot. I've updated all software and drivers for
mouse/usb/win-update. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.
