D600 latitude- windows XP

Hello,
I cant start up my laptop. it keeps bringing me to black screen with blinking cursor saying " cardbus nic boot failed
media test failure, check cable
no bootable devices-- strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility..

I tried F1 didnt work then I ttied F2 took me to BOIS blue screen. but I dont know what to look for. Can someone help me??

The BIOS will have a boot order menu, make sure the hard-drive is listed, add it if it's not. If the drive is not seen at all, reseat it in the case, and try again. Failing that, may need to try a new drive, if the issue does not turn out to be with the motherboard. New drive is a lot easier to try first though.
