Book to cd forum

I am trying to download a book and put it on a cd so that my wife can read the book on a backlit cd/dvd player. I know that I have to buy the book. My wife has cancer and has lost some of the vision of her left eye. I have a small cd/dvd player that is backlit and she would be able to read again. For some reason does not like audio books. Can you advise me? Is it possible?
