I have a MN-500 and was recently prompted to download and
install a critical update. I installed it and everything
seemed fine, only now whenever my computer restarts the
update trys to reinstall itself. How can I stop this from
happening?

OS is XP pro

It sounds like you have an installation that did not work quite right. The
best way to fix this is to download MSBNSoftware.exe from the BBN Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/ [...] dMain.mspx

Save the file to your computer.
Go to Add or Remove Programs (from the Control Panel)
Remove: Microsoft Broadband Networking
Run MSBNSoftware.exe
Select the Install Software Only option

That should fix it.
