i have a P4 that i am sure has 1024k of L2 cache. When i look in system info, i see both processors (its HT), but they both only say 512k. Is there a setting for this? I am running Windows .NET server 2003 to try it out.. may switch back to XP pro...

thanks

Intel hasn't released any 1024k P4s yet. Don't know if they ever will. I'm thinking no 1024k until Prescott.

Maybe a Xeon or XeonMP? Wait ...

Nope ... L2 cache always is 512 kB. XeonMP's have got 1 or 2 MB of L3 cache, though.

Then again, that's just my opinion

it does have 1024 actually. it is a production sample. But i ahve and older HT with only 512k and it 512 fo rboth processors.. so shouldnt this say 1024 for both?

You have enough connections to get a production sample, yet you need to get information from us schmucks? Non-schmucks too. Strange things are a foot in schmuckville.

They all have 512K cache.

Im a IPD with early access.

The 3.06 HT is a single core with 512K cache. even though you see 2 CPU's on the hardware manager they share the same 512K cache.

What motherboard do you have, that will end the debate on if your CPU is XEON or not.
