i am going to set up a new system for myself. the problem is that i do not know what cpu to get. my budget is just enough for me to get a AMD 2600XP Bartin core, INTEL's 2.6 or an underwater meaning not warranted INTEL 2.8, what is the best choice that i can make here. i am not worried about the heat from the AMD. i am using the system more for gaming. thank you

Check out the features and prices of the motherboards to go with those processors... that may help you make the decision.

Personally, I'd say it's a coin toss over the 2600 and 2.6, but I wouldn't suggest you go with an unwarranted chip. They do make the occasional dud, you know.
