Xbox wireless adapter stopped working please help

so i got a wireless adapter from my friend and it was broken. so i took off the casing and sure enough the usb was partly unplugged so i plug it back in and everything works fine. just today i was playing on xbox live and my connection seemed kinda bad so i go behind my xbox and move the wireless adapter barely just touch it and suddenly i hear my xbox go beep and it says im disconnected from xbox live and my wireless adapter light didnt eve turn on anymore. i turn off my xbox turn on nuthing works. the usb is plugged in and everything looks fine idk wat happend can someone please help me the wireless adapter doesnt turn on the xbox doesnt detect it and no lights go on
