windows getting slower and slower

does anyone know why the hell windows seems to get slower and slower and slower the longer you use your computer? it almost seems like you have to reinstall your os every few months to keep the system fast... is there ways around this?

This should not be the case with win Xp or so they say, it could be because so much shite is added to the registry and startup over time with bad or unecessary patches and rotten drivers, I really do not know.

There are several issues that might be slowing your PC down. Have a look at the size of your temporary internet files - this can be set to a minimal level to prevent crap accumulating and being stored on your hard drive. And the other obvious one is the level of fragmentation on your hard drive, which will increase over time and cause a general slowdown in your system.
