i was having problems with installing a new program so i went to the
troubleshooter to try and fix windows installer. it's been a while since i
did this so i'm just typing what comes up on my run window. it has regedit,
cmd, msiexec/regserver,msiexec/unregister,services.msc, and command in the
dropdown window on the run prompt so it was one of these items that i typed.
i restarted my computer and none of my shortcuts look right and they don't
work either. i can't even get anything to work from the menu either.

i was wondering if there was something else that i could do besides using my
restore cd

thanks in advance

If you are stuck with no shortcuts working and you don't wish to create you
shortcuts again you could try the Windows "Restore", but make a restore point
before you try this so you can return to current state!
Matbe better than complete restore of your pc.

Goto Help and Support from the Start menu and you will see listed on the
right System Restore option, try running from there!

Sorry can't think of whats gone wrong, but I have been given a post in the
one above yours giving me a web address for to sort my problem you may find a
solution there. I am not a Microsoft tech person just a person that spends
far to long looking at pc screens! I do build pc's and know how frustrating
they are. Here is the web address I was given
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Hope this has an answer for you?
