Hello. It seems everything I have deleted from my recycle bin has been put in
the RECYCLER\NPROTECT folder. This folder is now 40GB. Could someone please
tell me how to delete either the RECYCLER folder or all of it's content!!
Everytime I try to delete it I recieve an error message stating it could not
read from the source file or disk. Thanks so much for your help.

To empty the Norton Protected Recycle Bin:
1.. Right-click the Norton Protected Recycle Bin icon and choose Empty Norton
Protected Files.
2.. Follow the prompts
To change how often files are purged:
1.. Right-click the Norton Protected Recycle Bin icon and choose Properties.
2.. Click the Norton Protection tab.
3.. Select the drive from the drop-down list.
4.. Check Purge Protected Files After.
5.. Change the figure to a new number of days.

Hello. I've already done that to the Norton Protected Recycle Bin. I do not
think this folder is related to the Norton Protected Bin or rather the files
were once in the Norton Protected Recycle Bin and when I emptied or purged it
they then got sent to the RECYCLER folder. For some reason I can not delete
or change the RECYCLER folder or any of it's contents. It took hours for me
to locate the folder and when I finally do I still can not delete it's
contents. Talk about aggravation. Thanks though I do appreciate your help.

Hi,

Suggestion:

This seems to work for many: Make sure that something is in the Recycle Bin
(delete any file). With the Recycle Bin closed, right click and choose:
Empty Recycle Bin. When the confirm box appears, click ok. Reboot. Now the
Recycle Bin should work correctly.

More info here if needed:

Good luck and keep us posted!
