I'm getting ready to build myself a new system and will be buying a amd 3000+. My question is does anyone have an idea as to when the amd 3200+ and 3400+ are going to be coming out? And when they do come out do you know if the A7N8X will support them? I can wait about a month more before buying. Any info would be great

Theres a 3200+ and 3400?+ Surprising, I thought it stopped at 3000+ and next up is the hammer or whatever its called, which uses a completely different socket.

AMD is slated to release an Athlon XP Barton core on 400 FSB running at 2.2 Ghz called 3200+ and a 400 FSB Barton running at 2.1 ghz called 3000+. I have not heard of any plans to release a 3400.+

Personally, I think the 2.2 ghz 400 FSB would probably be a more accurate 3000+, and the 2.1 ghz a more accurate 2800+, but that's just me.

I think about four to six weeks, but that's just a guess based on the mountain of data that's out there.

I think most people, including most AMD employees, disagree with AMD's latest product labelling. The current so-called 3000+ is hardly even a contender to the throne when compared to the 3.06 P4, let alone the new 3 Ghz w/ 200 mhz FSB.

Not that it really matters, hopefully most people don't buy a product based solely on what it claims to be.

Yep, my 2 cent on that AMD needs 2.4 Ghz for the 3200+ to be able to stay close to the P4 3.2

My system: AMD Athlon XP 3000+ CPU / TwinMOS 1Gb DDR400 / Soltek 75FRN-RL /
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro / Antec True Power 550W / Maxtor 80Gb ATA-133 / Hercules GTXP SC /
Samsung DVD / Lite-On CDRW
