I would want to find out if the Alienware m17x laptop with theses specs are good for playing Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Intel® Core™ i7 620M 2.66 GHz (3.33GHz Turbo Mode, 4MB Cache
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit
1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 4870
320GB Raid 0 (2x 160GB 7,200RPM HDDs)
4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz

More about : alienware m15x fsx

I dont know what the requirements for flight sim X are but i do know that the 4870 is comperable to a Desktop side 9800GT+ OR GTS 250. ATi side comperable, i'm not sure, ive heard a 4850. So xfire mobility 4870 is obviously 2 of those.
I just bought an m17x with SLi gtx 260m and have no problems running any games at high settings. thats with the P8600 core 2 duo as well.

im pretty sure any video game that wouldn't run on your system would be made for corporate or military purposes.

any way it is much faster to look up the system requirements online. for this game they are very low.
1.0 GHz CPU, 256 MB RAM (for Windows XP SP2) or 512 MB RAM (for Windows Vista),
14 GB hard drive space (15 GB for Deluxe Version), DVD drive, 32 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible video card [1]

btw you will want to buy Flight Simulator X: Acceleration which is takes advantage of directx 10

Sager/Clevo offers better performance per dollar, IMO. But it's all about brand preference, I personally wouldn't buy an Alienware.

Is it a good laptop for gaming? Yes, even with a single 4870 it will handle pretty much every game you could want to play. However, ATI released the 5870 for laptops so I would be tempted to wait and see if Dell releases an M17x with them before I bought it.

Neither. I'm saying if I were in your shoes, I would wait a month or so (if you can) and see if they release the 5870's for the M17x. They should provide a decent performance increase over the 4870's.

lostandwandering is right that alienware is way overpriced, but probably reliable. i bought a gateway p-7805u which at the time by far had the best price per performance but the graphics card was defective.
