LOL.. I've heard some snippets from Rainbow like this, but not that one!...

A lot of older Kid's shows seem full of innuendo[sp?] for some reason.

I caught Zippy and Bungle taking it up the Gary Glitter from Jeffrey.

Ah, the legendary double entrendre episode of Rainbow.

Now all we need is an episode of Tiswas....

One thing I could never work out with Rainbow. Bungle would quite happily stand there in just his fur, but when it came to bedtime, he'd have pyjamas on. WTF was that all about?

Tiswas was just sheer class. The best live TV programme ever. And Sally James had magnificent, unfettered tits.

Perhaps he was a naturist who got cold at night. Personally I would have been happier if he had been roasted alive over an open fire on live TV.

I loved Tiswas, Sally James was indeed fine and was the subject of many a gleeful knuckle shuffle. Sid the Parrot was also quite lush.

Did you see those Virgin Money ads a few years ago, that featured Geoffrey driving a minicab 'cos he'd got no money left!

Spit the Dog too. And of course, who can forget the Phantom Flan Flinger. All my friends wanted to go in that cage. Bet you could do the dying fly too.

Wow, you used to watch Rainbow? I had no idea it was shown outside Britain. Cool. Was it Jane that did it for you, huh?

And yes, it is that episode.

yeah rainbow was really popular here.

we had

tomas the tank engine,
postman pat
rainbow
seasame street
playschool

as our childhood live show watching.

snorks
captain planet
smurfs
ninja turtles

as our cartoon watching.

one of my friends owns ALL the rainbow episodes on tape. she is probably 18 now. (was 17 when i got down and dirty with her :P)

i think that most of our TV shows as kids were from Britain. the commonwealth had a lot more standing in those days.
austrailia shares much of our tv programming too.

And I bet you only got down and dirty with her purely for her Rainbow collection.

Oh man, Captain Planet rocked!

We once were so into it, we bought Trolls rings (yeah, they had trolls on them lmao), gold, silver and some other color on each (we were 3 playin' this) and pretended we were calling Captain Planet. Then outta nowhere I'd play him.

Oh and Ninja Turtles definitely kicked ass too. Loved those.

yeah captain planet was the bomb, way better than what the next generation watched (power rangers LOL)

although i must say in my older age i looked at captain planet and it was sucky as hell. but hey at the time it was wicked cool.

and as for ninja turtles, i had wanted a ninja turtle action figure (aka doll LOL) and i got one for christmas or my B'day or somthing. but my parents were sufficiently uncaring to have gotten me "shredder" (looking back on it, shredder is way cooler) but at the time i was sooo dissapointed. i mean seriously NO KID wants the bad guy (unless they already have the good guy, so they have someone to fight)

i needed to take it to school and have it beaten up by everyone with the ninja turtle action figures LOL

oh well i am over it.

The first generation of Power Rangers was the best IMO. Well, anything after Tommy becoming a white ranger just gradually worsened. Until they changed all the cast, how sucky. And they had the best theme song too!

By the way on the SNES (unless he was also on the TV series) in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters, you get to fight with Cyber Shredder. He's uber cool, nice techniques, hella buffed up. Must be some mutated version of Shredder. Check it out if you can.
