I was examining a processor I just purchased and noticed there were 3 pins bent on the end. I am not sure if I did this when closing the package or that is how it came to me. I read that it is OK to bend them back. How will this affect the processor performance? What would happen if the pin was damaged and no longer worked? Would you even notice? THanks a lot

its possible to bend them back, but id just send it back to where ever you bought it and tell them you got a damaged chip, if its a decent store, they'll send you home with a new chip, and they themselves will deal with the company to get their money back for the product

and yah, you;ll notice when your system wont boot because you dont have all the pins on your chip
