I am looking for a gaming notebook, perhaps even desktop replacement type. I was looking at the Inspiron XPS 16 or Alienware M15x, but am severely concerned about the throttling issue and Dell's terrible response to this obvious issue. Here's the rundown of questions pertinent to me, thanks for your recommendations!
1_What is your budget?
Up to $2,000
2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
3_What screen resolution do you want?
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Closer to desktop replacement
5_How much battery life do you need?
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes, not sure what games.
7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.)
All of it
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
Not really an issue, the minimum available is fine.
11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
Non-issue. Prefer at least a DVD writer
There are options starting from 1200, but these screens are huge, the keyboard is awesome, the sound is Harmon Kardon, and the other specs are hugely strong too. This is way better than I remember Toshiba being several years ago.
