I just set up my A7N8x deluxe with a 1700XP Tbred. When I run PC mark or check sytem info under win XP the typ of processor is detected as a Duron tunning at some lower speed than what my MOBO posted at. What is causing this? Also, After the multiplier of 12.5, 13 actually mutiplies the fsb by 5. 13.5 goes to 5.5 and so on... Is this normal? Can it be corrected to give me higher multipliers?

Disregard the second question...I just found it in the forums search...

I have the same detection problem wtih my 2500+ Barton. Its detected as a Duron by certain progs like 3DMark01SE and 03. WCPUID detects it fine though.

Athlon XP 2500+ @ 2.2GHz, A7N8X, Kingston HyperX PC3000 512MB @177MHz, Radeon 9700Pro, SB Live 5.1

3dMark2001 reads my processor as a Celery @1.26GHz and it's a Pentium III-S @1.26GHz. WCPUID detects it just fine though. lol, funny thing is, this "Celeron" that 3dMark detects has 512K of L2Cache, hmmmm that's a damn nice Celeron!

Thats OK, my motherboard doesn't even know what my CPU is, it just runs it. At bootup, it says: Unknown CPU XXXX MHz (whatever I have it overclocked to at the time because of room heat). CPUID identifies it, nothing else does though. Not even my bios. :p But its all good. PCMark2002 ID's it as a Duron lol. I'd like to see an 1800 MHz Duron...... Hmmmmm. I got a Duron laying here somewhere.....

"Ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight ???"

I think you need to risk an update or 2 on your system (if there is one) ;-)

PS A Duron 1800Mhz would probably melt...

Hmmm, wonder if I can get a valid page fault ???
these invalid ones are far too commonplace...

My system? Nah, it runs perfect, I can use it 24/7 for 3 months and not have a lock up. Hell, I have this sucker ported and tuned, light as a feather and sleek as a raindrop. Thats why I need to find another thing to overclock on it...... I wonder what I can get my Duron 1300 up to. I had it at 1417 (I think) before I stuck in the AXP, and that was even undervolted. I wonder if I can mod this chip to get 133 FSB out of it, or allow me to change the multiplier. The 1300's supposedly can't change multiplier, THG couldn't even do it.
