Dell Latitude C800 + Logitech M-BJ69 Optical Mouse

This happened a lot on my old ThinkPads, why is it that the USB mouse
will function for an hour or so and then "freeze"? - I have to
physically disconnect and connect to get it back again

I use a logitech optical mouse and the logitech drivers..

Does this happen on all laptops??!!! It seems to have been a feature
of all my laptops (all with different USB mice as well)

The problem may be elsewhere actually - remember, those laptops and
desktops, from Dell or Gateway, often get pre-loaded with hundreds of
background programs which you probably do not need and which are the
ones that cause the problems - I see it all the time.

Check here for background programs or get their great "The ultimate
troubleshooter" tool :

I have this happen with a usb cirque glidepad using their drivers.
Since it's on a desktop, I also have a PS2 mouse attached and as soon as
I use that for a second, the USB straightens out.....
