NEWEGG.COM
Okay, i have used them before and their shipping and prices are usually at the top (being lowest that is). But has anyone else noticed that on their product reviews they EVERYTHING and I mean almost every single review gets 5 stars? So as i'm weeding through endless reviews of their products (namely cpu fans etc..) I notice that many people don't have anything nice to say about the product, but their rating of it was still 5 stars. Are that many people just plain stupid can can't figure it out?...does the system default to 5 stars if you don't specify yourself? Or is newegg editing the rating. Take a look for yourself, click on a product that has like 100 reviews with a 5 star average rating (out of 5), start reading the posts, a good 1/4 of them will be totally dogging the product...
Just something to think about should you be stuck in computer class like I am and bored out of your mind!

I understand marketing . I was just mentioning that after cross referencing the posts on THG and posts about products on NewEgg.com that there were some discrepencies. IE: Just about everyone worships NewEgg, but for them to cover up the truth about some of their "top selling products" reviews seems to be not just good marketing, but poor customer service, even though everyone raves about their customer service. lol. Oximoron type of thing i guess. Anyway, i'll drop it! Guess being bored at school has its downside .

thats why you buy what you know is a good namebrand. WHen going to a store you don't have any system to know if it's crap or not. WOuld be nice to just have the idea. Thats why i like newegg. I don't take the 5 star system literally. It even says right there on newegg to not take the 5 star system literally.
Take it with a grain of a salt and jsut buy it. if it's crap then you know to never buy that namebrand again.
thats reality

The real thing I like about Newegg is they have it all. Form the good top of the line stuff right down to the bottom of the barrel stuff. If you know what your looking for it's one of the places that will have it. Shipping, it always seems to get shipped the day I order it. I don't look at Neweggs ratings myself. I know what I want when I go there from benches & know exactly which part & the spec.'s I'm looking for. If you read there ad's closely, you can find most anything there. I regard this forum as more of a proving grounds for parts & I look for opinions & real experience here. Newegg is in business to sell parts & they do a dam fine job of it.
I wish, like I say, that I could at least look at the things I want to buy locally. That has nothing to do with Newegg though.
Many think that the ratings are "filtered" (and they may be), so they give it 5 stars so it will be posted, and then say what they really think. Still, as long as you know your hardware, Newegg is the best.
